Victor Nunez

Victor (Vic) Nunez passed away September 28, 2026, after a brief illness. Born on February 5, 1939, in Guadalupe, CA, into a large family, Victor was the 4th of 11 children. In 1958 he married his high school sweetheart, joined the US Airforce and started raising their own family. He was a radio man stationed at Eglin Airforce Base, Florida, in the early 1960s. After military service, he relocated his family to Southern California and began a successful career ultimately working for 30 years for AT&T (Pacific Bell, Pacific Telesis, etc.) finishing his phone company career in the San Francisco Bay Area.

He retired in 1997 to the Sacramento area where he enjoyed travel, golf and spending time with his grandchildren. When not golfing, Vic could be found attending Sacramento Kings basketball games or mowing the lawn.

Vic is survived by his wife of 68 years, Judith Lynne Kies Nunez who very rarely wandered far from his side. He is also survived by his daughter Laurie Malone (John), sons Victor Steven (Becki), Danny (Sharon) and Chris (Sondra). Sisters Sharon Wardlow, Gloria Coleman; brothers Joe (David) and Bill. 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will take place on 24 October 2026 11:00 to 2:00 at the Catta Verdera Country club.
