U Aung or Aung was a caring son, brother, husband, father, and friend. He left this world on May 25, 2023, at age 80. He was born to Premier U Nu and Daw Mya Yee, at Yangon (formerly Rangoon), Myanmar (formerly Burma) on May 1, 1943. His father was a Minister of Foreign Affairs at the time he was born. Aung studied Political Science, Economics and Logics at the University of Yangon after graduating from high school, and later, at the University of Maryland. He had five siblings. He never missed talking to them occasionally and sharing his daily chaos. Aung met his wife Nwe, at the University of Yangon and married in 1967. They had a daughter, Nyein. He utterly adored his one and only child, and vice versa.
Aung was closed to his father Nu, who was one of the independence activists while Burma was under British and Japanese, as well as the first-elected prime minister of independent Burma. Aung was much interested in politics and participated in the activities for democratization of Burma since 1969 and again in 1988 till 1990s. He was a political activist who scarified his time, efforts, and possessions.
Aung was a friendly person who loved to Facebook, making new friends, contacting old and new friends all over the world and chit-chatting with them, and sharing the interesting news/songs/articles with them. Everyday, he made new friends.
