Stanley Earle Walker

December 6, 1948 — December 19, 2022

Stanley Walker, age 74, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2022 due to complications of Lewey Bodies Dementia and Leukemia.  He fought a hard battle with this debilitating disease which significantly affected his physical functions and  independence.  He kept his sense of humor and loving concern for his family to the end.  Stan was born on December 6, 1948 in Alma, Michigan to George and Sarah Walker.  He married Jean Horski in Lansing Michigan on March 1, 1974.
Stan was an Army Veteran, serving as an armor crewman during the Vietnam era from 1968 -1970. He worked in a variety of jobs with the majority of his years in the trucking/transport industry.  He was quite successful with these endeavors, never experiencing any work accidents, driving cross country before GPS, despite the fact that his sense of direction was not one of his strengths.
Stan retired in 2010 and he enjoyed extensive travel adventures and driving road trips with his wife and family. Many of these road trips provided him the opportunity to explore his love of fishing and golfing.  Freshly caught fish was one of his favorite menu items.  Stan loved to hang out with his family and he treasured his time with his children and grandchildren and he was often the one to make others laugh or joke. He especially enjoyed spending time with family to play card games, camping or cooking his famous BBQ hamburgers in the backyard, and researching his family history and genealogy.
Stan is survived by his wife, Jean,  sons, Benjamin, Jesse, Patrick, and daughter Alicia; grandchildren, Dhameon, Jazmyne, Charlie, Axl, Elijah, Myriah, and Joshua; sister Kathy (Denny), brothers George, Bill (Susie), and Gene (Lo), in-laws, Dave (Millie), Susie (David), Sandi, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Stan recently lost his mother, Sarah at the age of 100 years in May of 2022.  He loved and cherished all of his family and appreciated the time he spent with them.
A Graveside Service will be held at Sacramento Valley National Military Cemetery in Dixon, CA on Tuesday January 24, 2023 at 9:30AM.  Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to a non-profit of your choice or to your local Alzheimers/Lewey Bodies Dementia, or Leukemia charities.
