Sacramento

Rosemary “Rose” Lacey, age 76, passed away on Dec 23rd surrounded by the love of her family. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, she moved to Sacramento, California at a young age, where she built a life grounded in family, friendship, and community.

Rose attended El Camino High School in Carmichael and later met her husband, Nick, while they were both working at the shops in Town and Country Village. During that time, she worked at the Orange Horse Gift Shop, where her friendly nature, reliability, and natural charm stood out.

Her primary career was with Bel Air in Carmichael where she worked for many years as a bakery associate, most notably in the Java City coffee area. She took pride in her work and was well known for her kindness and friendly presence. Rose had a way of making everyone feel welcome, and she was genuinely liked by all who met her.

Rose was a devoted wife and a loving mother to her twin sons, Steve and Scott, with whom she shared a very close bond. She was also a proud Nonna to four grandchildren: Nicholas, Natalie, Austin, and Emery, who brought her endless joy. Family meant everything to her.

She is survived by her husband, Nick; her sons, Steve and Scott; her grandchildren; her mother, Faye; and her sisters, Nina and Diana. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe and grandson Dylan.

Rose enjoyed trips to Lake Tahoe and Monterey, where she found peace in the scenery and natural beauty. An outstanding cook and exceptional host, she had a gift for bringing people together and making gatherings feel special. She was always impeccably put together and was known for setting her hair in rollers nearly every night. A small ritual that reflected her care and sense of pride.

In accordance with Rose’s wishes, no formal service will be held. The family may host a small, intimate gathering in the spring to celebrate her life as this was her favorite time of year.

Rose will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
