Rochelle Ann (Shelly) Delorio
Rochelle Ann Delorio (“Shelly”), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away on April 22, 2025, at the age of 72. A native San Franciscan, Shelly was born on May 17,1952, and lived a life marked by love, compassion and quiet strength.
Cherished by all who knew her, Shelly is survived by her devoted husband, Joe and their three loving children: Eric, Danielle (Mike) and Tony. Shelly was a proud and doting grandmother to Giuliana, Gianni and Nico.
Shelly was born and raised in the Crocker-Amazon neighborhood of San Francisco and was a spirited graduate of Balboa High School (Class of 1970). In 1972, while serving as Maid of Honor at her best friend’s wedding, she met Joe – Best Man for his brother. That joyful occasion blossomed into a lifelong love, and Shelly and Joe were married in 1974. They shared 51 wonderful years together, building a home filled with love and raising a close-knit family.
After the births of their children, Shelly sought a career that would allow her to be present during school breaks. She found a role in Food Service with the South San Francisco Unified School District, a position she held with dedication for over 25 years.
As an Italian wife and mother, family was the center of Shelly’s world. She found immense joy in spending time with her loved ones, whether on vacations or family gatherings. One of her favorite pastimes was playing Pedro, a beloved Italian card game, with family and friends. She was a proud Forty-Niner Faithful; enjoyed listening to Motown and Elvis Presley; and delighted in decorating the house for every - and any - holiday.
Over a decade ago, Shelly and Joe retired and moved to Lincoln California. There, they enjoyed a peaceful life in their home with a pool, creating new memories with visits from their children and grandchildren – moments Shelly treasured deeply.
To all who had the pleasure of knowing her, Shelly will be remembered as a kind, loving soul who always put others before herself. Her warmth and spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
