Robert Edmund Siemion

Robert Siemion passed away on 2/10/2020 at the age of 80.Bob was born on 8/26/1939 in Valparaiso, Indiana.Bob graduated from high school at Marmion Military Academy in Aurora, IL on 6/7/1957 and entered into active military service with the U.S. Army 9thInfantry on 9/9/1957.Bob was honorably discharged on 9/8/1960 after 3 years of distinguished service. Bob received a Certificate of High Honor from American River College and completed a course in Economics for Business with Cornell University.After his military service, Bob embarked on a career within the grocery business that would eventually span 50 years.Bob ultimately retired from Raley’s.Bob was a skilled woodworker whose other hobbies included fishing, reading and boating.Bob was also an avid sports enthusiast.Bob is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jackie; daughters Shelly, Lori and Gail; step-children Patti, Tony, Vicki and Donna; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.A funeral service, with military honors, will be held on Wednesday, 2/19/2020 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 5057 Cottage Way, Carmichael, CA 95608.A reception will follow.A private interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Vincent De Paul, 5057 Cottage Way, Carmichael, CA 95608, or Martha and Mary’s, c/o Our Lady of Assumption Church.
