Pauline Olive McCormick

Jun 14, 1937 — Jun 3, 2026

Pauline “Paula” McCormick passed away on June 3, 2026, in Carmichael, California at the age of 88.

Born on June 14, 1937, in St. Paul, Minnesota to Julius and Nelly Rudahl, Paula attended the University of Minnesota and later married Thomas McCormick. After a start in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the young family moved to Foster City, California in 1969.

Paula devoted those early years in Foster City to raising her two children. Later, Paula became a teacher’s aide in elementary schools in San Mateo and Foster City. Eventually, Paula renewed her nursing license and became a much loved and dedicated employee of Mariner Medical Center, working into her mid-70’s.

An avid singer, Paula joined the Peninsula Community Chorus and enjoyed rehearsing and performing with the many friends she made over the years.

Paula touched many lives whether as a neighbor, friend, teacher’s aide, or as a nurse. Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She took great pride in her children and granddaughter and looked forward to every moment spent with them.

Paula is survived by her son, Wes McCormick and his wife Sandra Gill; daughter, Kelly McHenry and her husband Chris McHenry; and granddaughter, Ella McHenry.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and sister, Marlene Peterson.

Paula’s life was a testament to love, family, and lifelong friendships. Though we miss her terribly, we carry her memory forward by celebrating the vibrant light she brought into our world.

A memorial service will be scheduled to take place on the Peninsula at a later date.
