Paul Dean Ogden, 90, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025. He was born on August 1, 1935, in Okemah, Oklahoma. In 1948, Paul moved with his family to Sacramento, California,where he would build a life rooted in dedication, hard work, and deep love for family.
Paul began his career at Aerojet in 1958, where he worked for 35 years until his retirement in 1993. During his tenure, he demonstrated a strong commitment to personal growth and professional excellence, earning his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of San Francisco while working full time in order to pursue higher-level leadership positions.
Paul was married to the love of his life, Carolyn Jo Ogden, for 46 wonderful years. He was a devoted husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, and brother. He is survived by his wife Carolyn; his daughters, Cheryl Hernandez (the late Jeff) and Kimberly Tyer (John); his stepchildren, Kathryn Rose-Schultz, Cynthia Rose-Lauer (Randy), and Douglas A. Rose (Shelly); his granddaughters, Kelsea Tyer and Jenna Tyer; and his step-grandchildren, Heather Bouyear, Justin Lauer, Alacia Lauer, Rochelle Rose, and the late Stuart Jordan.
Paul was preceded in death by his brother, Herman Ogden, and his sister, Norma Jean Gilmore.
Paul found great joy in golfing, fishing, gardening, rooting for the 49ers and, most of all, spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his steady presence, strong work ethic, and the love he shared with those closest to him.
Friends and family are invited to attend Paul’s Celebration of Life on February 6th at 12:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge in Carmichael, located at 5631 Cypress Avenue.
Paul’s legacy of dedication, love, and family will live on in the many lives he touched.
