Norman "Norm"
Schroeder
1936 – 2026
Norman "Norm” Schroeder, a beloved figure in the hearts of many, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 89 on February 17, 2026, at his home in Lincoln. Born on June 12, 1936, in Sacramento, Norm lived a life dedicated to service, love, and joy, which will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
For over 47 years, Norm devoted himself to his career as a manager at PayLess Drug Stores. He was not only passionate about his work but cherished the relationships he built with his employees, influencing countless lives with his kindness and dedication. His career was a testament to the character he embodied—always cheerful, always happy, and unfailingly supportive.
Norm's qualities transcended professional boundaries; he was a man known for his sweetness and generosity. Those who knew him would agree that he was the best father anyone could have wished for. His daughter, Dalynn Brickey, recalls him as not just her father but her best friend and mentor. Norm's pride in Dalynn was evident; she was, without a doubt, one of his proudest accomplishments.
Outside of his professional life, Norm embraced his interests with warmth and enthusiasm. He found joy in playing golf alongside his cherished friends—Dave, Bob, Bill, and Dale. Norm also eagerly shared this passion with Dalynn, teaching her the game he loved so much. Furthermore, his creative spirit flourished in woodworking, crafting furniture that adorned their home, and even undertaking the ambitious project of building a boat in his younger years—a true reflection of his resourcefulness.
Despite the sudden nature of his passing due to illness, the memories of Norm's joyful spirit remain vibrant in the hearts of those he loved. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Kay Schroeder, with whom he shared nearly 63 years of marriage until her passing in 2019. The love they cultivated together was a shining example of partnership and devotion.
Norm is survived by his loving daughter, Dalynn Brickey, who will continue to honor his legacy of kindness and dedication. As we remember Norm, let us celebrate the sweetness of his character and the profound impact he made on those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of many, a beacon of love, happiness, and friendship.
