Nora L. Stanfill, age 77, passed away from medical complications in Sacramento, California, on September 19, 2026. Born on April 23, 1949, Nora is survived by her loving husband of nearly 51 years, Jack; her two children, Jessica Stanfill and Holland Stanfill; her cherished grandchildren, James, Ava, and Tessa; her stepdaughter, Jill Ellis, her husband Rich, and their children, Mason and Madeline; as well as several beloved nieces and nephews, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

Nora graduated from Encina High School in 1967. In 1973, she graduated from CSU, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work/Corrections. In 1973, Nora was a Pregnancy Counselor for Planned Parenthood while working as a cocktail waitress at Tia Maria Restaurant, where she met her future husband, Jack. In 1979, Nora became a banquet waitress at the Holiday Inn, Capitol Plaza, advancing to Banquet Manager and then Director of Catering over her thirty-year career. In a quarterly Holiday Inn newsletter interview, General Manager Jerry Temple said of Nora, "She was born caring. No matter what the problem, she solves it. You never know until you're in that "buck-stops-here" position, just how important it is to have people like Nora you can depend on."

To meet Nora was to lover her, she saw you and liked you for who you are. Her first care and concern was not for herself, but for others. The beauty inside of her made her sparkle like stars.
