Mary Elizabeth Bagola, 60, of Sacramento, California, passed away peacefully at her home on October 14, 2025. Born on February 1, 1965, in Santa Clara, California, she spent her formative years in the vibrant community of San Jose, where she attended Lincoln High School.
Though Mary faced numerous challenges throughout her life and had complicated relationships with some family members, her love for her children remained steadfast. She had a passion for oldies music, which brought her joy and allowed her to create beautiful memories during lively dance sessions at home. These moments were often shared with friends who became like family, highlighting her ability to find connection and joy in the simplest of pleasures.
For a decade, Mary dedicated herself to working in the kitchen at UC Davis, where she not only prepared meals but also formed lasting friendships with her coworkers, who appreciated her warmth and spirit.
Mary is survived by her four beloved children: Elizabeth Blair, Mosiah Arteaga, Jeremy Bagola, and Alexander Bagola. She also leaves behind three cherished grandsons who brought immense joy to her life. In addition to her late mother, Eva Elaine Jost; sister, Jacqueline Doreen LeBeau; and father, Thomas Dean Jost, she is survived by her sister, Tara Deanine Jost, and her family. Now, Mary will have the opportunity to reunite with her loved ones who have passed. Despite the hardships she faced, Mary’s warmth, laughter, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her, reminding us of the resilience and love that defined her life.
