  1. It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother,

  3. Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones in her

  5. Maria was born on February 23, 1936 to Rosendo Siliezar and Juana Tellez in
  6. Guatemala City. She was the beloved sister of Juan Luis Tellez Hernandez, David
  7. Siliezar Tellez, and Jose Angel Siliezar Tellez. She shared the same birthday with
  8. her second oldest brother. Maria was lovingly nicknamed, “Chita” as she was the
  9. little girl of the family.
  • Through the encouragement of her mother Maria came to America as a young
  • twenty year old. She was proud the day she became a US citizen on February 16,
  • 1994. Maria was a devout Catholic and raised her children in the church. She was a
  • devoted mother of five always making her children top priority. She supported
  • them in all areas of their lives making sure to attend all of their sporting events.
  • Maria was a survivor that overcame many obstacles throughout her lifetime with
  • the support of her three special and dear friends Reba Light, Ada Duner and Melva
  • Ray. Riding the bus to Lake Tahoe with her friend, May Tinley, was always outings
  • that she looked forward to with excitement. She was a big time Sacramento Kings
  • fan. She loved bowling and played on a women’s bowling league team. For thirty-
  • six years she was a dedicated employee of San Juan Unified School District as a Child
  • Development Assistant at Marvin Marshall School as well as being a noon aide. She
  • loved her job working with the children and often walked to and from work
  • enjoying the fresh air and exercise. After retirement she continued to work part-
  • time as a substitute for the district.
