Laurel "Lauri" Kay Thompson70, of Rocklin, California, passed away at home on November 28, 2025, surrounded by her family, after facing pancreatic cancer with strength and courage.

Lauri was born on November 21, 1955, in Pasadena, California, to Gertrude (Veldkamp) and Richard Terpstra. She married Curtis Thompson, on January 20, 1973, and they shared 52 years together. Lauri and Curtis built a home grounded in love, faith, and devotion to family.

A lifelong homemaker, Lauri poured her heart into caring for others. Her passions for scrapbooking and card making reflected her joy in creating beauty and capturing cherished memories. She had a gift for making those around her feel special, valued, and deeply loved.

Lauri’s love for God was the foundation of her life and the source of her endless kindness. Her gentle spirit, compassion, and unwavering faith touched everyone who knew her. She lived her faith through quiet acts of service, encouragement, and unconditional love.

Lauri and Curtis raised their family in Lakewood, CA, and Los Alamitos, CA. In 2019, they moved from Southern California to Rocklin, CA, to be closer to their beloved grandchildren, where she treasured every moment spent with them.

Lauri was preceded in death by her parents, Gertrude and Richard Terpstra, and her sister, Mary. She is survived by her dear husband, Curtis; their four loving children, Becky McColl (John), Melissa Thompson, Robert Thompson, and Andrea Thompson; three cherished grandchildren, Collin McColl, Graham McColl (Carolina), and Abby McColl; and her brother Rick Terpstra.

In accordance with her wishes, Lauri will be cremated, and a memorial/open house will be held February 7, 2026 to celebrate her life and legacy.

Lauri will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend; a woman whose faith, love, and gentle strength will continue to uplift all who knew her.
