Koreen (Katy) Hayes

Koreen (Katy) Ann Hayes passed away unexpectedly on August 21, 2025,
in Elk Grove, California, at the age of 61.

Born to Daniel and Patricia Weber on October 2, 1963, Katy was raised
in Cleveland, Ohio, alongside her three sisters, Kathy, Karen, and
Kolleen, and her brother, Dan. In 1980, she moved to Sacramento and
never looked back, quickly making Northern California her true home.

Katy brought immense color and joy to the world. She absolutely loved
the holidays and was legendary for her epic decorations and festive
costumes. An avid "thrift hunter," she possessed a wonderful creative
flair, always working on DIY projects and crafts that burst with
color, glitter, and crystals. Katy also had a profound love for
animals, rescuing countless cats, dogs, birds, and other creatures
throughout her life. She found great peace and joy spending time in
the beautiful Sierras.

For many years, she shared her organizational talents and warm
personality as an administrative assistant in the HVAC industry.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Steve; her son, Loren Periman
(wife Selena); her grandson, Holden; and her daughter, Diana. She also
leaves behind her sisters, Kolleen Handel and Karen Learn, sister -n
-law Dori Weber and brother in law Mark Handel, her best friend, Diana
Powers; and a loving host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was
preceded in death by her sister Kathy McFarland and her brother Dan
Weber.

A celebration of Katy's vibrant life will be held on Saturday,
September 26, 2026, at the Shepard Garden and Art Center (McKinley
Park), located at 3330 McKinley Blvd , Sacramento, CA 95816. The
gathering will take place from 11:45 AM to 2:00 PM. Family and friends
are warmly invited to attend and are encouraged to bring their
favorite photos and stories to share.
