Kum Sun "Tina" Witcher

March 17, 1952 — March 14, 2026

  • Kum Sun “Tina” Witcher, 73, passed away on March 14, 2026, after a courageous battle with
  • cancer.

  • Tina was born on March 17, 1952, in Seoul, South Korea, to Hwang Dong In and Kim Jong
  • Hawn. She grew up in a large and loving family alongside her two brothers and four sisters,
  • surrounded by extended family and lifelong friendships.

  • In 1976, Tina moved to the United States, where she began building a life rooted in
  • resilience, hard work, and love. She later welcomed her son, Young, and embraced
  • motherhood with the same care and devotion that defined her life.

  • Tina went on to build a remarkable 33-year career as a hair designer. As a Senior Artistic
  • Designer and top producer at Hoshell’s for Hair, she was deeply passionate about her work.
  • She earned numerous performance awards throughout her career and traveled
  • internationally to train with some of the top professionals in the industry.

  • In 1997, Tina met the love of her life, Stan Witcher, at a local gym. After a playful beginning,
  • Tina took the initiative and invited Stan to her company’s Christmas party—an invitation
  • that would change both of their lives. Their relationship quickly blossomed into a deep and
  • lasting love, and they were married on August 27, 2001. Together, they blended their
  • families and built a life centered on love, devotion, and connection.

  • Tina had a deep love for people, and one of her greatest joys was bringing others together.
  • She loved opening her home to family and friends—whether for holidays, birthday
  • celebrations, or simply to cook a meal and spend time with those she cared about. Her home
  • was a place of warmth, connection, and laughter.

  • She had a gift for making everyday moments special. Tina was an avid reader, loved Korean
  • food, and was always stylishly dressed. She especially cherished the Christmas season,
  • going above and beyond to beautifully decorate her home and tree. She took great care in
  • choosing thoughtful gifts and wrapping them with elegant paper and bows. She never forgot
  • a birthday and always found meaningful ways to celebrate the people in her life.

  • She also loved staying active and could often be found at the gym, where she built many
  • lasting friendships over the years.

  • Another of Tina’s favorite pastimes was visiting Thunder Valley Casino with her husband,
  • Stan. There, she joyfully played the machines, celebrated the occasional big win, attended
  • concerts, and enjoyed dining at her favorite restaurants. She especially loved sharing these
  • experiences—bringing along family and friends to enjoy dinners, shows, and time together.

  • Tina and Stan also shared a love for travel, especially going on cruises together. Wherever
  • they went, Tina had a way of connecting with others—often forming instant friendships
  • with fellow travelers and spending their vacations together as if they had known each other
  • for years.

  • She was known for her generosity, loyalty, wit, and thoughtfulness. Whether she was
  • creating personalized birthday cards for friends, working in her yard, or going for a run, she
  • found joy in both the simple and meaningful moments of life. Her radiant smile could light
  • up any room, and those around her felt seen, loved, and uplifted in her presence.

  • More than anything, Tina cherished her role as a grandmother. She loved being called
  • “Grandma,” and her grandchildren brought her immense joy and pride.

  • She was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother.

  • Tina is survived by her devoted husband, Stan Witcher; her son, Young Hammack and
  • daughter-in-law Tara; her stepson, Jason Witcher and daughter-in-law Selene; her
  • stepdaughter, Myndi White and son-in-law Steven; and her seven beloved grandchildren:
  • Alexus, Sasha, Gavin, Skyler, Carter, Hailey, and Jay.

  • Tina will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the strength and grace she carried,
  • and the countless lives she touched. If you knew Tina, you felt her love.

  • A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 12:30 PM at Destiny
