With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Jerilyn Ann Carlin-Mobley on July 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Jeri's life was a testament to love, kindness, and unwavering support for those around her.
Jeri is survived by her devoted husband, Fred Mobley III, her adoring son, Fred Wendell Mobley, his fiancée Leah Mendoza, and her newest joy, her grandson, Fred Alexander Mobley. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
She also leaves behind her beloved siblings, Helen, Kelley, Ann Margaret, Patrick, and Jefferey, along with their spouses and children. Jeri's extended family, including her mother-in-law Klongjit, and sisters-in-law Melody, Sharon, Regina and her children Julian, Aryan, and Eric. Jeri was very involved in the boys' childhood, offering love and support and raising Eric from a very young age alongside her son Fred Wendell. Her cousins, too numerous to name, will miss her dearly.
Born and raised in San Francisco, Jeri was the daughter of Patrick "Bud" and Patricia Carlin. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Jimmy, who we hope welcomed her with open arms on her journey beyond.
Jeri had a passion for gardening and arts and crafts, which brought beauty and creativity into her life and the lives of those around her. Professionally, she was a trailblazer, becoming the youngest Branch Manager at a savings and loan in California and later excelling as an outstanding escrow manager for 42 years. Her dedication and hard work were admired by all who had the pleasure of working with her.
One of Fred and Jeri's favorite memories was their first date at Joe Froggers in Santa Rosa. During their double date, four strangers tried to start trouble, and Fred asked the other couple to take Jeri to the car so he could protect her. Jeri, however, refused to leave his side, wanting to support him. Later, she asked Fred why he wanted her to leave. Laughing, Fred explained that he could handle the situation as he always had, and it was his job to protect her. Jeri looked at him in disbelief, but Fred was impressed by her determination. This moment symbolized their marriage, as Fred knew she would face anything with him, side by side.
Another cherished memory was in Virginia, when Jeri was saddened by the thought of not being able to have children. After four days of feeling unwell, Fred asked her to visit the doctor where she received the miraculous news that she was pregnant, despite medical science saying it wasn't possible. The news brought the greatest happiness to a young soon-to-be parent of a miracle baby…which was her greatest achievement in life.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Jeri's dear friend Carol, whose constant support at the care center, hospital, and home was invaluable.
Jeri's warmth, generosity, and love will be remembered by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and strength that will continue to inspire those she touched. She will be sorely missed and forever cherished in our hearts.
