JASON MATTHEW DIAMOND July 18, 1984 - April 4, 2026
With shattered hearts, we share the news that Jason Diamond passed away unexpectedly on April 4, 2026. Jason was born on July 18, 1984, in Mt. View, California. Jason’s parents, Patti Diamond and Gary Diamond, were privileged to adopt this adorable baby within hours of his birth to complete the Diamond family, which included his adoring older sister, Sara. The family relocated to Rocklin, CA, in 1986, where Jason spent the rest of his youth.
Jason was a gifted natural athlete and excelled in every sport he tried. As a kid he played football and soccer, and later basketball and volleyball, though he probably favored football above all.
Jason became a father at the young age of 17, when daughter Payton was born in 2002. He graduated from Rocklin High School in 2003.
At some point, he became a devoted fan of the Detroit Lions football team. One year while his sister was living in Michigan, Jason was ecstatic about attending a Lions game on Thanksgiving with his family.
Jason moved to the Charlottesville, Virginia area around 2009, where he began his profession in the medical field. First as a nursing aide, then as a medical assistant. Simultaneously, he volunteered with the Albemarle County rescue squad, before moving to a job as an EMT in the Emergency Department at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was accepted into the Nursing program at the University of Virginia and graduated on May 18, 2014, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. We were all so proud of his accomplishment!! Jason began his nursing career at his alma mater, the UVA Medical Center. He accepted a position as an RN in the Cardiac ICU, earning the “Beginning Practitioner of the Year” award in 2016. He returned to Rocklin later that year to be nearer to his daughter.
Jason flourished within the Sutter Health system, first at the Sutter Medical Center Sacramento as an ED/ICU floater, before accepting a position with the Ventricular Assistive Device (VAD) unit as a Clinical Specialist, RN. His next position brought him to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where he was a member of the Vascular Access Team (VAT). He loved his work and the people he worked with. At the time of his death, he was just weeks into working for 21st Century Home Health Services and was looking forward to providing care to people in their homes.
Jason lived with his beloved canine “boys,” Hobbes, a 140 lb. St. Bernard, Henley, a 40 lb. Doodle, and Hank a little mutt he adopted when he found him abandoned in a filthy kennel at the park near his home one night while walking his boys.
Jason was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Philip Salvador Raineri and Nadine Marie Raineri, and his paternal grandfather Alvin Able Diamond. He is survived by many loving family members who will miss him deeply everyday....
Please join us as we gather to celebrate his precious life at 3:00 pm, on Monday May 18, 2026, at the Rocklin Event Center, 2650 Sunset Blvd, Rocklin, CA 95677. In honor of Jason’s beloved Detroit Lions, please wear Lions swag, or anything blue, white or silver, their team colors. Most of all, bring your loving memories of Jason to share.
In Lieu of flowers, consider a donation in Jason’s name to the Placer or Sacramento County SPCA.
