James Lester Mathews Sr

James Mathews, 82, of North Highlands, California, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2025.

James was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend whose quiet strength and steady presence touched the lives of all who knew him. He cherished his family above all and found his greatest joy in spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter, Patti Hawkins, and his son, James Mathews Jr. He was a proud grandfather to Mindy Boyer, Edward Gallagher, and Jerrad Hawkins, who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

James will be remembered for his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy will live on through the lives he shaped and the memories shared.
