James (Jim) Leroy Lange passed peacefully in his sleep early in the morning on 02/27/26 of natural causes. We would like to take this time to thank the wonderful nurses and staff at Snowline Hospice for taking such good care of all of us during this difficult transition.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Anastasia Lange, his brother, Johnny Lange, and his sister, Jeanne Heedum, all of whom resided in Nebraska. He leaves behind his wife Marilyn of 69 years, his daughter Robin (Rick) Jones of Antelope, CA, his son Frank (Debbie) Lange of Peoria, AZ, his daughter Shellie (Tom) Minor of Tacoma, WA and his daughter Leslie Karcher of Avondale, AZ, as well as 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Jim was born and raised in Hartington, Nebraska and joined the US Air Force while still in high school and served several years in the Air Force transferring many times before settling down in Salt Lake City Utah where he met and married his wife Marilyn in 1956. While in SLC, he took on a second job at a local gas station while he and Marilyn started their family. Jim ultimately transferred to McClellan AFB in North Highlands, CA and worked as a civilian at McClellan Air Force Base for several years. After retiring from civil service, Jim worked a variety of jobs including a phone answering service, as a private security guard and delivery driver for a medical group.
In his spare time, Jim loved woodworking and doing anything with his hands. He was very creative and always had a positive “can-do” attitude. He enjoyed having morning coffee with his friends at a nearby restaurant and donut shop. When he was mobile, he loved going to estate sales and flea markets. Jim was very social and loved shooting the breeze with anyone and everyone who would listen and he always had a great sense of humor and made friends easily.
Jim will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
