JAMES RICHARD JENSEN
January 29, 1963 — June 1, 2025
- James Richard Jensen was born January 29, 1963, in Carson City Nevada and passed away on June 1, 2025, in Santa Clara, California. He joins his parents Rodney Jensen and Judith Sikora and eldest brother, John. He is survived by his sons James (Jimmy) and Ryan, his wife Marichris Jensen, and stepsons Spyke and Boogie, Maui, and stepdaughter Red. He is also survived by his brothers Joel, Chris, Aaron and Marc, as well as his beloved grandchildren Atticus and Cora.
- Jim loved exploring the outdoors, camping along the California coast and in the Sierra Nevadas. Gatherings of the Jensen family in Mendocino were one of his favorite occasions, as were backpacking on the Tahoe Rim trail and trout fishing in alpine streams. He was a woodworking enthusiast, and relished in helping his grandchildren build bird houses, sharing California history, and feeding his chickens. In his early years he ran a paper route as well as raising chickens and quail. Jim was an early riser and hard worker all his life, and often repeated the expression "Make hay while the sun shines." Hard work aside, Jim enjoyed planning cookouts and camping trips with lovingly curated lists of guests, food, and essentials. His culinary specialties were cioppino, ebelskiver, beef ribs, smoked salmon, and his well attended crawdad feasts.
- Jim will be buried at Sylvan Oaks Cemetery, where his father Rodney Jensen is also interred.
