- George Rubiaco was a loving Husband, dedicated Father, adoring Grandfather and a fun-loving
- Brother, Uncle and Cousin. His number one commitment was to his faith, family, friends and
- community.
- From his humble beginnings as a Youth Conservation Corp enrollee to the respected position as
- a Forest Fire Management Officer he worked on the Klamath, Sierra, Mendocino, and Olympic
- National Forests where he enjoyed serving his communities of Yreka CA, North Fork CA, Willows
- CA, Olympia WA, Pollock Pines CA, Burnsville NC, Mars Hill NC and Eureka CA.
- After a 31-year career, he retired at 50 years old and enjoyed 18 years in retirement that he
- spent hunting, fishing, glamping in his fifth-wheel camper and completing “Forestry by George”
- projects on several properties that he owned. He was an active member of the St. Monica
- Parish in Willows and the St. Andrews Catholic Church in Mars Hill. Over his lifetime he visited
- all 50 states and his favorite role was PawPaw to six amazing grandchildren. He recently asked
- for a shirt that said, “I’m not retired! I’m a full-time PawPaw!”. His love, laughter and legacy will
- be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew him…
