Obituary

Garrett Daniel Kirkpatrick October 18, 1968 – May 14, 2026

Garrett Daniel Kirkpatrick passed away on May 14, 2026, at the age of 57. Though his life ended far too soon, he leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, hard work, and memories that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Garrett was preceded in death by his father, William "Jerry" Gerald Kirkpatrick, and his mother, Nancy Lee Kirkpatrick.

He is survived by his wife, Athena Kirkpatrick, and his daughter, Jocylin Kirkpatrick, who was the center of his world. He is also survived by his sisters, Lori Long (Joel) and Wendy Kirkpatrick; his nieces and nephews, Shannon Cruse (Tyler), Jarrod Long (Kari), Stephanie Stewart (Chad), Adam Long (Maureen), Michael Long, and Jordan Kirkpatrick; along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Garrett was a man who could build, fix, and create just about anything he set his mind to. Throughout his life, he worked in construction, tree trimming, tiling, painting, carpentry, and woodworking. He took pride in his work and had a natural talent for working with his hands. Whether tackling a large project or helping someone in need, Garrett approached every task with determination, skill, and ingenuity.

Outside of work, Garrett found joy in the outdoors and the things that brought him freedom and adventure. He loved riding his Harley, spending time on his boat, being near the water, and enjoying off-road toys whenever he had the chance. Some of his happiest moments were spent outdoors, making memories with family and friends. He also shared a special bond with his loyal dog, Havoc, who was a constant companion and faithful friend.

Garrett's life was marked by both triumphs and challenges, but those who knew him best will remember his kind heart, his skilled hands, his adventurous spirit, and the love he had for his family. He had a way of making people laugh, lending a hand when it was needed, and leaving an impression that would not soon be forgotten.

While his passing leaves an emptiness that cannot be filled, his family takes comfort in the memories they shared, the lessons he taught, and the love that remains. Garrett will be remembered not for the hardships he faced, but for the life he lived, the people he loved, and the countless ways he touched the lives of those around him.

He was deeply loved, and he will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life honoring Garrett will be held on June 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at The Flower Farm Inn, 4150 Auburn Folsom Road, Loomis, California 95650. Family and friends are invited to gather to share memories, celebrate his life, and honor the love and laughter he brought to those around him.
