Evelyn Nelly Leboeuf

Evelyn (Freer) LeBoeuf, who lived a long and grace-filled life, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, just three weeks shy of her 97th birthday. She spent nearly a century offering love and quiet strength to everyone privileged to meet her. She was born in Sacramento, November 24, 1928 and attended Grant Union High School. Evelyn and her husband, Larwrence, were married 67 years until Lawrence’s death in August of 2014.

A devoted mother of three, she poured her heart into raising her family, creating a home along with her husband Lawrence that was filled with a welcoming spirit and filled with unwavering support. Her role as “Mom” extended far beyond her own children. Known affectionately as “Grandma Evelyn” to many, she held many in her daily prayer. Her kitchen table always was a place where all were welcome.

Evelyn’s Catholic faith was very important to her. She made many dear friends through the parish communities of St. Philomene, St. Lawrence and later St. Ignatius. Many know her through her hospitality and baked goodies. Her quiet faith continues in every life she touched.

Evelyn is survived by her three sons, Larry, Steve (Chris), and Paul (Jennifer), as well as a large extended family and the countless people who saw her as a second mom, a fairy godmother, or “grandma.”

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 20th at 1pm in the Jesuit High School Chapel of the North American Martyrs – 4660 Fair Oaks Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family invites gifts to the Jesuit High School Drama Program. She loved going to the Jesuit plays and musicals and will now be watching them from up above.

The celebration will continue at Paul and Jennifer’s after the service. Mom loved the Christmas party, so one more for her!
