Elaine Marie Sturges

Elaine Sturges, age 83, passed away unexpectedly on September 14, 2021. Elaine was born in San Francisco on Jan 10,1938 to Kenneth A and Marie E Sturges. She graduated from St. Francis Girls High School in June1955 and entered the Sisters of St. Francis in September. She earned her Masters degree from the University of San Francisco then taught in elementary schools in California and Montana for over 30 years. She was principal at St. Francis Elementary School before leaving the convent and continuing to teach in the San Juan Unified School District for 13 more years. She is survived by her brother Kenneth Sturges, sister-in-law Wendy, niece Tamara Sturges, and nephew Jay Sturges. A service will be held at 2pm on Monday 20th at Sierra View Funeral Chapel, 6201 Fair Oaks Blvd, Carmichael. Burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 7101 Verner Avenue, Citrus Heights, CA 95621, and Elaine'sgravesite will be available to visit anytime on Friday, October 8, 2021 or thereafter, during cemetery visiting hours.
