Brian S. McCauley, age 65, of Mather, California, passed away peacefully on April 5th,
with his daughter holding his hand and his loving family spread across the country
holding him in their prayers.
Born in 1965 to James and Evelyn McCauley, Brian grew up an athletic and intelligent
boy and graduated from Winnebago Lutheran Academy. Brian joined the Air Force
shortly after graduation and settled in Mather, California. That is where he met and
married his loving wife, Siriwan, and raised their daughter, Natasha. After serving in the
Air Force, he began his career with the California Department of Corrections and
Rehabilitation. Brian graduated from the CDCR Academy at the top of his class. He
received multiple honors over his tenure and retired after 25 years.
To the world, Brian was a jovial, endearingly loquacious, and lighthearted man, but to
his daughter, he was a pillar. He was the father who was always there and the man who
taught her that dedication and loyalty were true expressions of love. He was a true
sports enthusiast, with the highest regard for his Green Bay Packers. He loved classic
rock music and a comfy recliner. He loved his pets. But no love compared to the years
he spent holding the hand of Siriwan, the love and light of his life. Weekends at home
were energized by the sounds of Judaist Priest, Ozzy, The Grass Roots, and so many
others. The smell of the BBQ grill going and the loud music playing will forever fill
Natasha’s joyful memories of her dad.
Brian’s legacy may not be found in history books, but in the hundreds of smiles he
brought to so many faces with his good-natured sarcasm and humor. He was kind and
gentle. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his daughter, Natasha; his stepmother, Bonnie; his nephew, Dylan; his
aunt; 3 uncles; and cousins. He joins his parents, James and Evelyn; his brother, Kevin;
and his beloved wife, Siriwan, in rest.
A celebration of Brian’s life will be held on May 31 at 12:00 PM at Mango’s Cantina. We
will come together to honor his memory, share stories, and remember the moments that
made him so special to all of us.
