It is with profoundly heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Aaron Chase Karn, who left this world on August 1, 2026, at the age of 38.

Aaron was a beloved son, father, brother, cousin, friend, and so much more. Above all, he was one of us—a deeply loved member of our family whose life touched many people in ways that will never be forgotten.

Aaron was the youngest son, his mother’s baby, and he leaves behind five beautiful children, as well as his mother, brother and sister, extended family, and many friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Stephen Karn. Aaron's passing has left a heartbreak that words cannot adequately express.

Aaron faced a difficult struggle with addiction. Ultimately, that struggle took his life far too soon. But Aaron was so much more than the struggles he faced. Addiction does not erase a person's humanity, their goodness, their memories, or the love others have for them. We choose to remember Aaron for the person he was—for his smile, his laughter, his strengths, his personality, and the moments of joy he shared with the people who loved him.

To his family, Aaron was the baby. To his cousins, he was more like a little brother. Those childhood memories—playing together, laughing together, celebrating holidays, and simply growing up side by side—are treasured beyond words. His laugh and the memories of those days will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him.

Like so many families affected by addiction, our family has experienced the pain of watching someone we love become separated and broken. Yet through all of that, the love never leaves. It remains, no matter how far apart people may grow or how difficult life becomes. In moments like this, that love feels stronger than ever.

Aaron's greatest legacy is his five children. We pray they will always know how deeply they are loved by this family.

We hope Aaron's story will also serve as a reminder to anyone struggling with addiction: please reach out for help. You are not alone. You are loved, and there are people who care and want to help. There are resources and people ready to walk beside you. If you believe nobody cares, please reach out to someone. Someone does care.

As we grieve Aaron's passing, we hold him in our hearts with compassion, forgiveness, and love. We grieve the years he should have had, the conversations we should have shared, the memories that will never be made, and the tomorrows we had hoped for.
