Rose Anne ChalpinJuly 25, 1924 ~ August 9, 2017 (age 93)
Rose Anne Chalpin was born in Boston, Massachusetts and grew up in Sommerville Massachusetts. She had two sisters, Frances and Esther and brother Tommy who preceded her to Heaven. She attended business college and worked in banking in Boston. She met Edward, a WWII Army Air Corps P-51 pilot and mechanical engineer at a dance, and was married in 1952.
They went on to have a beautiful family of three boys, Edward Jr., Greg and Blair, all of whom followed in their father’s engineering profession. She has two grandchildren Blake and Danielle with Blair and his wife Pam who live in Spokane, Washington. Greg and his wife Jeanine live in Sacramento and Ed and Dora are in Washington DC. Rose Anne and Edward finally settled in Fair Oaks where he worked at Aerojet General, retiring in 1989.
She was a devout Roman Catholic, and enjoyed antiques, gardening, especially cultivating lavender, sewing and many aspects of homemaking, the internet and even political debate.
She had a keen wit and could quip a zinger now and them. She loved the coast and spent many family vacations in Monterey, California. Rose Anne touched all who knew her with warmth, love and sweet nature. She was a loving wife, devoted mother and caring grandmother.
Much appreciation to the sisters at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Carmichael, Atria El Camino Gardens and Belcrest Manor for their loving friendship and care.
She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon California Friday December 22, 2017 at 1:30 PM. The National Cemetery requests all attendees arrive a half hour. Thank you for your cooperation.
She will be forever loved and missed by all who knew her.
